Tribute Reel

Terms of service

Last updated October 2026.

Tribute Reel ("we", "us") makes short films from photos and answers you give us, set to an original song. These terms apply when you use tributereel.com or buy a film. By uploading photos or paying, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

What you get

You upload photos and clips and answer a few questions. We write and record a song and cut your photos to it, then show you a short, watermarked preview, usually in two versions. If you unlock the film, you get the full-length video of the version you chose, as a download. That download is the whole of what you are buying.

How the song and film are made

The lyrics, vocals, music and editing are created with automated tools, including artificial intelligence. The song is written from what you tell us and what is in your photos, but it is an interpretation: it may not match your memories, wording, expectations or taste, and two films are never the same. You see a preview before paying, so you can decide whether it is right for you.

Price and payment

The price is shown on the site and at checkout, in US dollars. Payment is handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. Taxes, if any, are shown at checkout.

All sales are final

Because you see a preview before you pay and the film is a digital product delivered immediately, all sales are final and we do not offer refunds, including if you change your mind, dislike the song, the voice, the lyrics, the photo choices or the editing, or did not download the film in time. If a film fails to arrive because of a fault on our side, contact us and we will deliver it.

Your photos and your rights

You must only upload photos, clips and words that you own or have permission to use, and that don't break any law or anyone else's rights. You must be at least 18, or have a parent or guardian's permission. You give us permission to store, copy, edit and process what you upload, and to send it to the service providers that help make the film, only to make and deliver your film. We don't use your photos for anything else, and we delete them as described in our privacy policy.

You can use your finished film for any personal, non-commercial purpose, including sharing it with family and friends and on social media. You may not resell it or use the song commercially.

How long we keep things

Your photos are deleted seven days after your film is delivered, or seven days after a preview you didn't unlock. The finished film is kept for thirty days so you can download it, then deleted. It is your responsibility to download and keep your copy; we can't recover it after it's deleted.

What we're not responsible for

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without any warranty of any kind, express or implied, including that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or meet your expectations. To the fullest extent the law allows, Tribute Reel and the people behind it are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or emotional loss or damage, or any loss of data, arising from your use of the service, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the film the claim relates to. Some places don't allow certain limits on liability, so some of these may not apply to you.

You agree to cover us for any claims, costs or losses that arise from what you upload or from your breaking these terms.

Refusing or stopping a film

We may refuse, stop or remove any film or upload at our discretion, for example if it appears to break these terms or the law. If we do that after you've paid and it's not because you broke these terms, we will refund you.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time; the version on this page when you place an order is the one that applies to it.

Law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and any dispute will be handled by the courts of Alberta. Questions: [email protected].
